Representative Text

1 We are happy gleaners
In the field below,
Working for the Master,
Singing as we go;
We are merry gleaners,
In the summer bright,
Working from the morning
Till the dewy night.

Refrain:
Singing with the sunshine,
Laughing in the sky,
Waiting for the harvest
Coming by and by.

2 We are happy gleaners,
Finding every day
Golden sheaves of gladness
Falling by the way;
Faithful in our labor,
Patient let us be;
Then a precious harvest
Soon our eyes will see. [Refrain]

3 When our days of toiling
One by one are past,
When our blessed Master
Calls us home at last,
May we go rejoicing
To the world above,
There to glean forever
Fruits of joy and love. [Refrain]
