here bring before thee Christ thy well-belovèd,
all-perfect Offering, sacrifice immortal,
spotless oblation.

2 See now thy children, making intercession
through him our Saviour, Son of God incarnate,
for all thy people, living and departed,
pleading before thee.

Born: October 1852, Alderney, Channel Islands, United Kingdom (where his father was stationed) Died: August 5, 1905, St. Marylebone, London, England. Jervois, William Henry Hammond, M.A., was born in Oct. 1852 on the Isle of Alderney, where his father, W. F. D. Jervois, afterwards Lieut. General, was then stationed. He was educated at Rugby and at Trinity College, Oxford (B.A. 1876, M.A. 1878), and was ordained D. 1878, P. 1879. He became Vicar of St. Mary Magdalene, Munster Square, London, in 1896, and died Aug. 5, 1905.
