¿Qué niño es éste?

Representative Text

1 ¿Qué niño es éste que al dormir
en brazos de María,
pastores velan,
ángeles la cantan melodías?

Estribillo:
Él es el Cristo el Rey,
pastores, ángeles cantad;
venid, venid a Él,
al hijo de María.

2 ¿Porqué en humilde establo así
el niño ha nacido?
Por todo injusto pecador
su amor ha florecido. [Estribillo]

3 Traed ofrendas en su honor,
oh pueblos y naciones;
al Rey de reyes, Salvador,
un trono levantemos. [Estribillo]

Trained in the business world, he became the manager of a marine insurance company in Glasgow, Scotland. Dix published various volumes of his hymns, such as Hymns of Love and Joy (1861) and Altar Songs: Verses on the Holy Eucharist (1867). A number of his texts were first published in Hymns Ancient and Modern (1861). Bert Polman… Go to person page >
