JP2 image files inaccessible

You are here

Most if not all computers I've used recently (basically public libraries and Staples) refuse to open *.jp2 image files, which unfortunately is what quite a few of the hymnal page scans are encoded as. Just now on a Dell ThinkCentre PC at the Seattle Public Library I tried to open one and got this error image in reply: https://hymnary.org/files/hymnary/image/JP2%20is%20verboten%20hier.jpg

Thanks for letting us know. We found a problem with the way our system is converting the JP2s. We hope to have this fixed by the end of the week.

I just got around to noticing this response, but in the meantime I had noticed a drastic decrease in, maybe an absolute disappearance of, the problem JP2s. Much improved! Thanks!

For the first time in quite a while I just ran into a scan that I wanted to look at but couldn't, apparently because it is one of those bad old JP2's.

And while I'm at it I should mention that I've been having a terrible time getting the scanned pages of HTLG2017 to load. Not sure why.
