27. The Wondrous Gospel Story

1 Listen to the wondrous gospel story
As it tells of love from God above;
Death is conquered, sin has lost dominion,
Grace is reigning by His perfect love.

2 Ref;
For Jesus died to redeem the world from sin,
He paid the price and to glory entered in;
He lives on high for those who on Him call,
And soon He’ll come in pow’r and glory once for all.

3 Harken to the pleading voice of Jesus,
He is calling you from sin and shame;
Perfect peace is granted for the asking,
There is pardon thro’ His precious name.

4 Once for all He paid for us the ransom,
Once for all He rose up from the grave;
Now in heaven He is interceding,
To mankind, a hope to come, He gave.
