| Text: | God, I have found it's good for me |
| Author: | Isaac Watts |
| Tune: | NERVIG |
| Composer: | Evan Becker |
God, I have found it’s good for me
to yield me to your rod;
your guidance helps me learn your law,
to lean upon you, God.
Before I knew your chastening rod,
my feet were apt to stray;
but now I’ve learned to keep your word,
nor wander from your way.
This is a comfort I enjoy:
if new distress begins,
I read your word, I walk your way,
and shun all former sins.
I know your judgments, Lord, are right,
though they may seem severe;
the sharp reproaches I endure
flow from your faithful care.
