1 Oh, why should we wrestle with fears
And doubts, which the Spirit must grieve?
And why should we languish in sorrow and tears,
When there’s nothing to do but believe.

Salvation is waiting for you and for me,

2 His word is assurance complete;
Thy sins and thine idols now leave;
Come, pleading his promise, and fall at his feet,

3 How easy the terms of his grace:
‘Tis only to ask and receive;
The seal of his favor, the smile of his face,
Are for those who will only believe. [Refrain]
