Af­ter teaching for two years, he joined the Fill­more Bro­thers Mu­sic House in Cin­cin­na­ti, Ohio. As of 1880, he was teach­ing mu­sic in Doug­las Coun­ty, Col­o­ra­do. In 1884, was an evan­gel­ist in California, and later was as­so­ci­ated with evan­gel­is­tic efforts in Tex­as, and taught mu­sic and Bi­ble at Carl­ton College in Bon­ham, Tex­as. DeCou, 76, of Peoria died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at his residence. He was born Oct. 7, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Harold H. and Kathrine Holbrook DeCou. He married Rose N. Layman on June 25, 1955, in Brookfield, Ill. She survives. Also surviving are his four sons, Harold H. (Nancy) DeCou III of Apple Valley, Calif., Mark T. DeCou of Peoria, Jonathan (Shari) DeCou of Muskegon, Mich., and Perry A. (Suiann) DeCou of Ramona, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He attended Temple University in Philadelphia. He was a concert artist (piano and organ), composer, arranger and orchestrator for 58 years. He served as church organist at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria from 1988 to 2001. He was a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Peoria. He is also an Honorary Fellow of Shenandoah Society Award. … Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. … Memorials may be made to Redeemer Presbyterian Church. S. V. R. Ford

1835 - 1910 Composer of "[Our Father in heaven, we hallow Thy name]" in Melodies for Little People Born: 1835, Greenville, New York. Died: June 5, 1910, New York City. Son of Cyrus Earle and Amanda Hedden Ford, Stephen wrote several battle hymns during the American civil war which were sung by Union soldiers. He was a partner in a shirt and collar making company, Ide & Ford, in Troy, New York (1865-72). In his later years, he was known as an author, editor, composer and critic. He was living in Schenectady, New York, in 1908. Albert J. Holden

1841 - 1916 Person Name: A. J. H. Composer of "[Our Father in heaven, we hallow Thy name]" in Songs of Faith, Hope, and Love A Founder of the American Guild of Organists and composer and editor of numerous pieces and collections of sacred music (of which perhaps Songs of Faith, Hope and Love, 1883, is best known), Albert Junos Holden was born in Boston on August 17, 1841. He studied in New York City, and served there as organist of the Church of the Divine Paternity (Universalist) and of the Church of the Puritans (Presbyterian). His sacred solo "In Heavenly Love Abiding" was recorded by the "Metropolitan Quartet" on an Edison Blue Amberol cylinder, No. 3813, in 1919. He died in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, on July 16, 1916.
