William Amps

1824 - 1910 Composer of "VENICE" in Hymns and Psalms Amps was educated at Peterhouse, Cambridge (BA 1858, MA 1862). He played the organ at King’s College (1855-76) and Christ’s College. He also conducted the Cambridge University Musical Society for many years. Amps composed a good deal of music, including piano sonatas and part songs.
