Allevegne, hvor jeg vanker

Author: Ahasv. O heavenly Jerusalem

Author: J. M. Neale Hymnal: The Church Hymnal #401a (1898) Meter: 7.6.7.6 Topics: Other Feasts and Fasts Lyrics: 1 O Heavenly Jerusalem, Of everlasting halls, Thrice blessèd are the people Thou storest in thy walls. 2 Thou art the golden mansion, Where saints forever sing, The seat of God's own chosen, The palace of the king. 3 There God for ever sitteth, Himself of all the crown; The Lamb, the Light that shineth, And never goeth down. 4 Naught to this seat approacheth Their sweet peace to molest; They sing their God forever, Nor day nor night they rest. 5 Sure hope doth thither lead us; Our longings thither tend; May short-lived toil ne'er daunt us For joys that cannot end. 6 To Christ, the Sun that lightens His Church above, below; To Father, and to Spirit All things created bow. Amen. Languages: English Tune Title: ST. ALPHEGE

Jerusalem, my happy home

Author: J. Montgomery Hymnal: The Church Hymnal #402a (1898) Meter: 8.6.8.6 Topics: Other Feasts and Fasts Lyrics: 1 Jerusalem, my happy home, Name ever dear to me, When shall my labors have an end In joy, and peace, and thee? 2 When shall these eyes thy heaven-built walls And pearly gates behold? Thy bulwarks, with salvation strong, And streets of shining gold? 3 There happier bowers than Eden's bloom, Nor sin nor sorrow know: Blest seats! through rude and stormy scenes I onward press to you. 4 Why should I shrink at pain and woe, Or feel at death dismay? I've Canann's goodly land in view, And realms of endless day. 5 Apostles, martyrs, prophets, there Around my Saviour stand; And soon my friends in Christ below Will join the glorious band. 6 Jerusalem, my happy home! My soul still pants for thee; Then shall my labors have an end, When I thy joys shall see. Amen. Languages: English Tune Title: BEATITUDO

Lad Kjærlighedens sæle Og søde Aande gaa Igjennem vore Sjæle, At kvæge Blomster smaa! 5 Du Sarons rene Lilje, Guds Blomst i grønne Dal, Du vende dig til Vilje Mit Hjertes Attraa al; Lad Dug af Zion komme, At min fortørred Aand Maa staa som Rosens Blomme I Lys paa Libanon! 6 Gud signe Aarets Grøde, Og frugtbargjør vort Land! Giv os nødtørstig Føde, Velsigne Land og Strand! Lad dine Budord følges, Og fød os med dit Ord, Lad Naadens Lys ei dølges For os paa denne Jord! Languages: Norwegian

I heard a sound of voices

Author: G. Thring Hymnal: The Church Hymnal #404a (1898) Meter: 7.6.8.6 D Topics: Other Feasts and Fasts Lyrics: 1 I heard a sound of voices Around the great white throne, With harpers harping on their harps To him that sat thereon: "Salvation, glory, honou!" I heard the song arise, As throu' the courts of heav'n it rolled In wondrous harmonies. 2 From every clime and kindred, And nations from afar, As serried ranks returning home In triumph from a war, I heard the saints upraising, The myriad hosts among, In praise of Him Who died and lives, Their one glad triumph-song. 3 I saw the holy city, The New Jerusalem, Come down from heaven, a bride adorned With jeweled diadem; The flood of crystal waters Flowed down the golden street; And nations brought their honors there, And laid them at her feet. 4 And there no sun was needed, Nor moon to shine by night, God's glory did enlighten all, The Lamb Himself the light; And there His servants serve Him, And, life's long battle o'er, Enthroned with Him, their Saviour, King, They reign for evermore. 5 O great and glorious vision! The Lamb upon His throne; O wondrous sight for man to see! The Saviour with His own: To drink the living waters And stand upon the shore, Where neither sorrow, sin, nor death Shall ever enter more. 6 O Lamb of God Who reignest! Thou Bright and Morning Star, Whose glory lightens that new earth Which now we see from far! O worthy Judge eternal! When Thou dost bid us come, Then open wide the gates of pearl, And call Thy servants home. Amen. Languages: English Tune Title: PATMOS
