Author: Christopher Idle Meter: 6.8.7.5.5.5.5.8.8 Appears in 1 hymnal Topics: Offering of Sacrifice First Line: Sing, sing sing to the Lord Lyrics: 1 Sing, sing, sing to the Lord, sing every land your own new song: sing every day that he saves! Let all the nations hear of his glory, victories, wonders, tell them the story, praising the Lord with heart and tongue, praising the Lord with heart and tongue. 2 Great, great, great is the Lord, great and most worthy of our love, great above all other gods. They are but nothings, God is all glorious, splendid, majestic, strong, and victorious, maker of earth and heaven above, maker of earth and heaven above. 3 Bring, bring, bring to the Lord, bring to his name the worship due. Bring your best gift to his throne: God is all holy, tremble before him: clothed in his beauty, come to adore him. Tell what the Lord has done for you, tell what the Lord has done for you. 4 Joy, joy, joy in the heavens. Joy for the life of sea and earth. Joy in the field and the wood! Welcome his kingdom, praise his salvation; now he is coming, Lord of creation, judging the peoples with his truth, judging the peoples with his truth. Scripture: Psalm 96 Used With Tune: SING

Saw You Never, in the Twilight

Author: Cecil F. Alexander Meter: 8.7.8.7 D Appears in 89 hymnals Topics: Offerings Lyrics: 1 Saw you never, in the twilight, when the sun had left the skies, up in heav'n the clear stars shining through the gloom, like silver eyes? So of old the wise men, watching, saw a little stranger star, and they knew the King was given, and they followed it from far. 2 Heard you never of the story how they crossed the desert wild, journeyed on by plain and mountain till they found the holy child? How they opened all their treasure, kneeling to that infant King; gave the gold and fragrant incense, gave the myrrh in offering? 3 Know ye not that lowly baby was the bright and morning Star? He who came to light the Gentiles and the darkened isles afar? And we, too, may seek his cradle; there our hearts' best treasures bring; love and faith and true devotion for our Savior, God, and King. Scripture: Isaiah 60:1-3 Used With Tune: CHARTRES

Above the voices of the world around me

Author: Timothy Dudley-Smith (b. 1926) Meter: 11.10.11.10 D Appears in 4 hymnals Topics: Self-offering Lyrics: 1 Above the voices of the world around me, my hopes and dreams, my cares and loves and fears, the long-awaited call of Christ has found me, the voice of Jesus echoes in my ears: 'I gave my life to break the cords that bind you, I rose from death to set your spirit free; tum from your sins and put the past behind you, take up your cross and come and follow me.' 2 What can I offer him who calls me to him? Only the wastes of sin and self and shame; a mind confused, a heart that never knew him, a tongue unskilled at naming Jesus' name. Yet at your call, and hungry for your blessing, drawn by that cross which moves a heart of stone, now Lord I come, my tale of sin confessing, and in repentance turn to you alone. 3 Lord, I believe; help now my unbelieving; I come in faith because your promise stands. Your word of pardon and of peace receiving, all that I am I place within your hands. Let me become what you shall choose to make me, freed from the guilt and burden of my sins. Jesus is mine, who never shall forsake me, and in his love my new-born life begins. Scripture: Mark 1:14-20 Used With Tune: ASTON ROWANT
