Buried: West Ridgeway Cemetery, Me­di­na, New York. Cottrell was known as a writ­er, po­et and min­i­s­ter. A mem­ber of the Seventh-day Adventists, he served for a time on the ed­it­or­i­al com­mit­tee of The Re­view and Her­ald in Bat­tle Creek, Mi­chi­gan.
