Out of the Depths Have I Cried

Out of the depths have I cried unto Thee, O Lord (Chant)

Published in 76 hymnals

Representative Text

1 Out of the depths have I cried unto you, O LORD:
Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications.

2 If you, LORD, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who shall stand?
But there is forgiveness with you,
that you may be feared.

3 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
and in his word do I hope.
My soul waits for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning.
I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

4 Let Israel hope in the LORD,
for with the Lord there is mercy,
and with him is plenteous redemption.
And he shall redeem Israel from all its iniquities.

5 Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and will be forever. Amen.
