God Will Aid

Representative Text

1 God will aid His chosen people;
Trust His grace so full and free;
Know His heart is ever beating,
Throbbing with true love for thee.
Though you’re wandering in the desert,
Pilgrim, through a weary land,
Trust His love to aid and help thee—
God will aid His chosen band.

2 Love and hope must be thy watchword,
Faith thy burning beacon be;
Though the light may burn but dimly,
It will ne’er extinguished be;
Should’st thou feel thy hope desert thee,
Grasp His ever outstretched hand;
Trust His love to aid and help thee—
He will save His chosen band.

3 Can ye trust? The tender radiance
Of His love shall never dim;
Though through night and darkness leading,
Let thy footsteps follow Him;
Thou art safe, though clouds and tempests
Threaten thee on every hand;
Trust His grace to aid and help thee—
He will aid His chosen band.
