I Need Thee

Representative Text

1 I need Thee, Lord, for life is sometimes dreary,
I cannot see the way which I would tread;
And stumble oft upon the darken’d pathway,
If by Thy hand I were not always led.

Refrain:
I need Thee, Lord, for Thou art strong and mighty,
Guide Thou my feet o’er rough and thorny ways;
Enfold me with Thy tender, loving mercy,
And fill with peace my soul thro’ passing days.

2 I need Thee, Lord, Thou art a friend unfailing,
Thy love is changeless, ever strong and true;
Thro’ devious ways where faith would sometimes falter,
I need Thee, Lord, to lead me safely through. [Refrain]

3 I need Thee, Lord, O may I never question
Thy will, but humbly say, it shall be mine;
And gladly follow in the way Thou leadest,
O’er rugged heights to Canaan’s land sublime. [Refrain]
