The Beautiful Stream

Author: R. Torrey, Jr. Appears in 82 hymnals First Line: Oh, have you not heard of a beautiful stream Refrain First Line: That beautiful stream is the "River of Life" Lyrics: 1 O have you not heard of a beautiful stream, That’s flowing thro’ our Father’s land? Its waters gleam bright in the heavenly light, And ripple o’er golden sand. Chorus: That beautiful stream is the “River of Life,” It flows for all nations, it flows for all nations free; A balm for each wound in its water is found, O sinner, it flows for thee! 2 With murmuring sound doth it wander along, Thro’ fields arrayed in living green; Where songs of the blest, in their haven of rest, Float soft on the air serene. [Chorus] 3 Its fountains are deep, and its waters are pure, And sweet their taste to weary souls; It flows from the throne of Jehovah alone! O, come where its bright wave rolls. [Chorus] 4 O will you not drink of this beautiful stream, And dwell upon its peaceful shore? The Spirit says, come, all ye weary ones home, And wander in sin no more. [Chorus] Topics: Invitations to Christ Used With Tune: [Oh, have you not heard of a beautiful stream]
