Redeeming Love

Representative Text

1 To Christ, our Lord and faithful Friend,
A grateful song we raise;
His love is true till time shall end,
And His shall be the praise.

Refrain:
Sing the song, the song of Love,
Redeeming Love,
Redeeming Lord;
Sing the song, the joyful song,
That fills the courts above.

2 He leaves the homage angels give,
To dwell with men below;
He gave His life that we might live,
Because He loved us so. [Refrain]

3 And when we reach our home above,
And tell our triumphs o’er,
We’ll sing of His Redeeming Love,
And praise Him evermore. [Refrain]

At the age of twenty-two he gave himself to the work of the ministry, and entered upon a course of study at the University of Lewisburg, Pa. At the age of twenty-eight he was graduated with the highest honors of his class. In the same year of his graduation, he entered upon the work of the ministry. He served as pastor at West Chester, Pa., 1851-1858; in New York City, 1859-1861;… Go to person page >
