Composer: L. Randolph Babin

L. Randolph Babin is a native of Baton Rouge, La. He received the degrees Bachelor of Music Education (1965), Master of Music Education (1968), and Doctor of Philosophy (1987) from Louisiana State University. In 2005, he retired from the music faculty at Lamar University (Beaumont, Tx.) with thirty-nine years of service. At Lamar, he served as Director of Choral Activities (1981-2001) and chaired the Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance (2001-2005). He is currently director of the St. Jude Thaddeus Chorale in Beaumont, Tx. His primary accomplishments are in choral music, but he has had considerable experience in the areas of opera, musical theater, and instrumental music.
