Representative Text

1 What wilt Thou have me do, dear Lord?
Give me my mission I pray;
Then with new zeal and fresh courage, dear Lord,
I will with pleasure obey.

Refrain:
What wilt thou have me to do,
I will be faithful and true;
Give me Thy message just now I pray,
what wilt Thou have me to do.

2 Tho' it may lead me to paths untried,
Lead me to ways that are new,
Still knowing Jesus then will be my Guide,
What wilt Thou have me to do? [Refrain]

3 If I must read vales of sorrow deep,
Jesus hath trodden them too,
So I will pray even tho' I should weep,
What wilt thou have me to do? [Refrain]

4 Teach me thy will, blessed Lord, each day,
guide till life's journey is through,
And I will pray to Thee, Jesus, alway,
what wilt Thou have me to do? [Refrain]

Outside of the usual time spent in the public schools, Mr. Oatman received his education at Herbert's Academy, Princetown, N. J., and the New Jersey Collegiate Institute, Bordentown, N. J. At the age of nineteen he joined the M.E. Church, and a few years later he was granted a license to preach the Gospel, and still later he was regularly ordained by Bishop Merrill. However, Mr. Oatman only serves as a local preacher. For many years he was engaged with his father in the mercantile business at Lumberton… Go to person page >
