Forth to the fields of waving grain?
Who will today, the summons obeying,
Gather the sheaves that strew the plain?

Refrain:
Who shall I send?
Forth to the fields of harvest white?
Who shall I send? the Saviour is saying;
Who in His service will take delight?

2 Look to the fields, the harvest is whit’ning,
Quickly the Master’s call obey;
Early to toil, the skies are now bright’ning,
Gather the golden sheaves today. [Refrain]

3 Forth to the world in wickedness lying,
Sounding the message strong and clear;
Plead with the souls the gospel defying,
Waking the lost to hope and cheer. [Refrain]

4 Haste, ere the time of harvest has ended,
Haste ere the strife and toil is o’er;
Soon will the joy of reapers be blended

19th Century "Robert Lowe Fletcher, the composer, will be at the South Avenue Congregational Church to-morrow, In the morning he will speak on 'The Conservative Life" and at night he will conduct an old-fashioned gospel singing service, when he will use some of his own compositions. Mr. Fletcher will ask the audience to assist him in the singing.
