Christ Alone Has Power to Save

Representative Text

1. When tossed on Galilee’s rough wave,
And fear their anxious hearts oppressed,
The Master’s voice spoke firm and clear,
And calmed the angry waves to rest.

Refrain
It was His voice that stilled the wave,
His healing touch new vision gave;
His might has triumphed o’er the grave,
Our Christ alone has power to save.

2. When he who sight had never known,
Came to the Lord with pleading voice,
That word and touch made darkness flee,
And bade the sorrowful rejoice. [Refrain]

3. When crucified on Calvary,
And in the tomb was laid away,
He rose triumphant o’er the grave,
And lives and reigns with boundless sway. [Refrain]

4. When trials thick my path surround,
When hope departs and gloom descends,
A gentle voice speaks from above,
And every dark foreboding ends. [Refrain]
