Title

A title is the name of a hymn. More specifically, it is the name of the text (rather than the tune) part of a hymn.

Guidelines

  • Many (especially older) hymnals have no titles at all for their hymns. Please be very literal about entering what is actually in the hymnal. If there is no title, do not enter anything into the Title field.
  • Enter titles exactly as they appear in the hymnal, including punctuation and capitalization. Except, do not capitalize every letter.
  • If a title has a subtitle, include the subtitle in parentheses following the title in the title field.
