New Every Morning Is the Love

Author: John Keble Meter: 8.8.8.8 Appears in 360 hymnals Scripture: Lamentations 3:23 Lyrics: 1 New ev'ry morning is the love our waking and uprising prove; through sleep and darkness safely brought, restored to life, and pow'r, and thought. 2 New mercies each returning day hover around us while we pray; new perils past, new sins forgiv'n, new thoughts of God, new hopes of heav'n. 3 If on our daily course our mind be set to hallow all we find, new treasures still of countless price God will provide for sacrifice. 4 The trivial round, the common task will furnish all we need or ask: room to deny ourselves, a road to bring us daily nearer God. 5 Seek we no more; content with these, let present rapture, comfort, ease as God shall bid them, come and go-- the secret, this, of rest below. 6 Only, O Lord, in thy dear love fit us for perfect rest above, and help us this and every day to live more nearly as we pray. New Every Morning is Your Grace

Author: Daniel Charles Damon Meter: 8.8.8.8 with refrain Appears in 1 hymnal Scripture: Lamentations 3:23 First Line: God shapes and forms us from the dust Lyrics: Refrain: New every morning is your grace arising like the dawn. Your love has drawn us to this place, your love will lead us on. 1 God shapes and forms us from the dust, the pow'r of love to feel and know. So let us live in hope, and trust that this, our church, can change and grow. [Refrain] 2 On Christ, our great foundation stone, we build, that future saints may see God's pow'r, far greater than our own, still comes to save and set us free. [Refrain] 3 Within this world where need runs wild, we make a space to meet and pray where every woman, man, and child can learn to follow Jesus' way. [Refrain] Topics: Church Anniversary Used With Tune: DAUPHIN WAY
