who wrote the lyrics?

You are here

I'm writing a novel. I'm trying to verify that the hymn, "Man's creator has a purpose" would have been sung in 1876. The tune was written by Zundel, of the right time period, but I question whether the lyrics I find were also written then. I can locate no copyright.

Thanks for any help someone can provide.

According to the YouTube video by Living Stream Ministry, "Man's creator has a purpose" was written by Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. Watchman Nee lived from 1903-1972 and Witness Lee lived from 1905-1977, so this song was not sung in 1876, although the tune by Zundel was.

Thanks so much.
