Merge Denomination Instances

You are here

https://hymnary.org/denomination/403 is the same as https://hymnary.org/denomination/322 The “Old Light” is a former name for the same denomination.

BPFS1998 and BPfW2010 should be resolved as RPCNA so that they are linked under 322. Three additional missing psalters will need to be added once those are approved as missing hymnals.

Denomination 403 has only 1 hymnal attached, PS1912. While the RPCNA did assist as part of the Joint Committee, they did not approve of the final product, or authorize it for use in its own churches.

In preface, p. 4 "submitted to the Churches by almost unanimous agreement." The Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America, listed as "the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Synod" on p.3 was one that did not authorize this Psalter for use in its church. I don't know if this should be a note and still associated to the 322 instance when merged. References: https://reformedpresbyterianarchives.com/rp-minutes-of-synod-1900-1950/ see Synod 1910 meeting minutes p. 12 “On account of the frequent and what we regard as needless departures from the text of the inspired Word found in this version, your representatives voted against submitting it to the churches.”
