While https://hymnary.org/text/the_cross_of_christ_inspires_my_heart and https://hymnary.org/text/angels_in_shining_order_stand both should exist because there are places where those lines begin certain instances, should instances of “ALABAMA” in The Southern Harmony be in grouped in the former since they clearly indicate verse 1 as “The Cross of Christ" and “Angels” as verse 7? This would be in contrast to The Sacred Harp, which only has “Angels.”

Alabama and first verses
It looks like The Southern Harmony uses this text for Alabama: https://hymnary.org/hymn/CPHS1864/88. The angels stand in verse 1 and sit in the later verse. Even though “The cross of Christ is numbered as verse 1 in Southern Harmony, ”Angels in shining order stand" is the text that is in the music, so I would say that is really verse 1
