Workman, George Coulson. (Grafton, Ontario, September 28, 1848--April 28, 1936, Montreal P.Q.). Methodist. Victoria University (Cobourg, Ont.), B.A., 1875; M.A., 1878; Leipzig, Ph.D., 1889. Pastorates at Cobourg, 1873-1874; Seaton, Ont., 1878-1880. Professor of theology at Victoria University (by then relocated in Toronto), 1882-1904; Wesleyan Theological College, Montreal, 1904-1908. Suspended from the latter post after a vicious quarrel over doctrine with the college's governors, he retained ministerial status until his superannuation in 1916, but never held another charge. His books deal with theological topics.
