Oh, Could I Rest In Mary's Place

Author: Marie Wexels Hymnal: Hymnal for Church and Home #264 (1927) Meter: 8.8.7.8.8.7 Lyrics: 1 Oh, could I rest in Mary's place And look into my Savior's face With child-like faith and gladness, Could I at morning and at night Embrace His words with deep delight, They would dispel my sadness. 2 Then I should find the strength with joy To labor in my Lord's employ And walk in His blest Spirit, His love within my heart would grow And anthems from my lips would flow To praise His grace and merit. 3 Oh, speak to me, my Friend and Lord, And I will answer with the word Thou hast in me implanted, For I have naught that I can bring To Thee, my mighty Lord and King, Except what Thou hast granted. 4 Thy Word, O Lord, is fill'd with pow'r And blessed is each silent hour We at Thy feet are spending; There ev'ry grief and fear is still'd And hearts, with strength and courage fill'd, Are heaven-ward ascending.
