Anders Nilsson

1849 - 1912 Person Name: Anders Nilsson (1849-1912) Author of "Sing, then, heir of heaven" in The Hymnal of the Evangelical Mission Covenant Church of America Nilsson, Anders. (Östraby, Sweden, November 10, 1849--October 22, 1912). Lutheran. Emigrated with his parents to America where he began studies at Augustana Seminary. Returned to Sweden and studied at Lund University for three years. Left studies to pastor West Skåne's Mission Society. Began to write poems and hymns which were published in Skånes Missionblad. In 1893 published a collection, Andliga sånger samlade och utgivna av A. Nilsson, of which most were Nilsson originals. Hymns were similar to those of other pietists.
