Author: Herbert Buffum; Thoro Harris Appears in 81 hymnals First Line: Lord, I have started to walk in the light Refrain First Line: I'm going through, I'm going through Lyrics: 1. Lord, I have started to walk in the light That shines on my pathway so clearly, so bright; I’ve bade the world and its follies adieu, And now with my Savior I mean to go through. Refrain I’m going through, I’m going through, I’ll pay the price, whatever others do; I’ll take the way with the Lord’s despisèd few; I’m going through, Jesus, I’m going through. 2. Many once started to run in this race, But with our Redeemer they could not keep pace; Others accepted because it was new, But not very many seem bound to go through. [Refrain] 3. Let me but follow my Lord all alone, And have for my pillow, like Jacob, a stone, Rather than vain worldly pleasures pursue, Than turn from this pathway and fail to go through. [Refrain] 4. Come then, my comrades, and walk in this way That leads to the kingdom of unending day; Turn from your idols and join with the few, Start in with your Savior, and keep going through. [Refrain] Used With Tune: [Lord, I have started to walk in the light]

I'm Going Through, Jesus

Author: Herbert Buffum, 1879-1939 Hymnal: Total Praise #398 (2011) First Line: Lord, I have started to walk in the light Refrain First Line: I'm going through, yes, I'm going through Lyrics: 1 Lord, I have started to walk in the light, Shining upon me from heaven so bright; I bade the world and its follies adieu, I’ve started in Jesus, and I’m going through. Refrain: I’m going through, yes, I’m going through; I’ll pay the price, whatever others do; I’ll take the way with the Lord’s despised few, I’m going through, Jesus, I’m going through. 2 Many they are who start in the race; But with the light they refuse to keep pace; Others accept it because it is new, But not very many expect to go through. [Refrain] 3 I’d rather walk with Jesus alone, And have for a pillow, like Jacob, a stone, Living each moment with His face in view, Than shrink from my pathway and fail to go through. [Refrain] 4 O brother, now will you take up the cross? Give up the world, and count it as dross; Sell all thou hast, and give to the poor, Then go through with Jesus and those who endure. [Refrain] Topics: Commitment and Submission; Discipleship; Faithfulness of the Believer; Light Scripture: Luke 9:23 Languages: English Tune Title: [Lord, I have started to walk in the light]
