Step Out On the Promise of Jesus

Author: Mrs. C. H. M. Hymnal: Awakening Songs for the Church, Sunday School and Evangelistic Services #203 (1917) Refrain First Line: Step out on God’s promise Lyrics: 1 Step out on the promise of Jesus, All ye who believe on His name; His pow’r from iniquity frees us Today, and forever the same. Refrain: Step out on God’s promise, His wonderful promise, Be whole thro’ the blood of the Lamb; There’s mercy for you, and there’s mercy for me! Be whole thro’ the blood of the Lamb. 2 Your sins may be grievous, and many, And number the sands of the sea; God wills not the dying of any, But all His salvation may see. [Refrain] 3 Your gold could not purchase your ransom, Your tears wash the sin-stains away; In Jesus alone is redemption, And this is salvation’s glad day. [Refrain] 4 Come now to the fountain of cleansing, For time is swift passing away; The days of probation are ending, There’s danger and death in delay. [Refrain] Languages: English Tune Title: [Step out on the promise of Jesus]
