Lizzie De Armond

1847 - 1936 Person Name: Lizzie DeArmond Author of "The Blessed Home Above" in Heart Hymns Lizzie De Armond was a prolific writer of children's hymns, recitations and exercises. When she was twelve years old her first poem was published in the Germantown, Pa. Telegraph, however, it was not until she was a widow with eight children to support that she started writing in earnest. She wrote articles, librettos, nature stories and other works, as well as hymns. Dianne Shapiro, from "The Singers and Their Songs: sketches of living gospel hymn writers" by Charles Hutchinson Gabriel (Chicago: The Rodeheaver Company, 1916)

1862 - 1941 Composer of "[There is a blessed home above]" in Heart Hymns William Burchinell Judefind Born: Circa 1862, Maryland. Around 1888, Judefind taught vocal music at the Westminster Theological Seminary, Maryland. In 1907, he was pastor at the Violetville Methodist Protestant Church, Baltimore, Maryland. Later, he and his brother ran a publishing company in Baltimore. He was living in Baltimore as of 1920.
